Already in the afternoon the cumuli showed a 'shear effect'. Around 8 PM I started the chase because a 'left split' supercell moved from Belgium to the Netherlands. In its course it died and died and died... But I managed to get a rather stunning overview of the last half an hour of the cell. Beautiflly highlighted by the already somewhat setting sun. Soon thereafter new convection (with chracteristic updrafs/ rain free base and signs of rotation) came closer by. From a southern cell mammatus showed up. In my opinion the for the most LP cells were not able 'to tornado' but I saw some apparent small funnels. I most of the time drove around a place called Ridderkerk; near Rotterdam.
Already at home in the west in a darkening sky new thunderstorms at the coast showed up; showing already some lightning. In the late evening a multi layered shelf passed Rotterdam; not easy to capture in the dark...
Sadly enough right at that moment in Friesland a 7 year young child died because of a falling tree.
